On Friday, September 11th, Entrepreneurs For North Texas hosted its 14th annual Freedom Day, a community service event honoring the lives lost and those forever changed by the tragic events of September 11, 2001. This year, we deployed our massive troop of 600+ Member Company volunteers as they served side-by-side with 150+ Dallas-Fort Worth area active and veteran members of the military. In recognition of the courage and bravery of the men and women who fight for our freedom, we dedicated this grand day of service to them by supporting local organizations that provide essential services to veterans and their families, as well as other members of our community.

Volunteers spent the day building accessible pathways, installing irrigation, building raised garden beds, constructing tiered seating and loafing sheds, clearing and cleaning trails and riverbanks, and installing fresh landscaping.

The effort you put into our facility and our program is a legacy that will endure for years.  Every single veteran and military family member who participates in Hooves for Heroes from this point forward will be touched by the mark you made.  Of course, all will benefit  from the amazing projects you brought to life.  But I believe an even greater impact will be made by the spirit of service you proved is alive and well in our community — you care and you are all willing to commit yourselves to making our world a better place.  For those who despair that anything will ever get better, you have all proven – in very dramatic fashion – that it can.
Jeff Hensley, Director of Clinical Services, Equest and IAVA Leadership Fellow

“These projects would have taken River Ranch a lot of time and money that will now be better spent serving the underprivileged and special needs communities that we have the Honor and Privilege of working for”.
Brandy Zeigler, Office Manager, River Ranch Educational Charities

Thank you to all of the sponsors, in-kind donors, and steering committee volunteers who helped make Freedom Day 2015 possible.  And, thank you to all the Member Company volunteers that joined us in honoring our local heroes during the largest 9/11 commemorative community service event in Dallas!
